   "A resolution favoring the naming of a proposed high school gymnasium in honor of James H. Holland. Winthop school committee member and long-time schoolboy sports coach, was adopted last night at a special town meeting.
   The resolution was presented by school committee member John A. Canavan Jr.
   Holland, 64, died Tuesday morning. The previous evening he had been active at the meeting, which voted to provide $102,000 to draw up plans and make preliminary plans for construction of a high school at Veterans Field.."

...A World War II veteran of the Air Force, in which he served as a colonel, Holland was a popular sports coach at old Mechanic Arts High and Boston Tech for a quarter of a century...."
