TO THE TOWN OF WINTHROP IN THE
INTEREST OF THE CHILDREN AND
CITIZENS OF WINTHROP BY...
MR. AND MRS RALPH MASSA
DEDICATED 1946
 


Ralph Massa donated the land in 1946. The playground was renovated in 1970, and then again in 2007.

Obituary
Ralph Massa
   "...[Ralph] had been in the jewelry business here for 20 years. He donated a fully-equipped playground, known as the Massa Playground on Park Ave., in appreciation of the safe return of his five sons from World War II..."
   "A celebration for the grand re-opening of the recently renovated Massa Playground is scheduled for tomorrow..."
