Winthrop Highlands Pier

- Highlands To Open Pier Next Saturday, Boston Daily Globe, Jul. 25, 1920
"The residents of the Highlands section of Winthrop are planning for a gala day next Saturday, when the new pier, built by the Winthrop Highland Association, is to be officially opened.
The pier is located on the ocean side of the district on Grover Ave., and while it is primarily for bathers, yachtsmen and boatmen will find opportunities for anchorage there.
The pier supplants the runways formerly in use and is quite a pretentious affair, being 2256 feet long, with three elevations. Off the end of the pier is to be constructed a diving platform."
