Winthrop's first railroad, 1877 to 1888. Boston-Winthrop and Shore (or also called) Boston-Winthrop and Point Shirley, also called the Peanut Train. When completed in 1884 it ran from "Winthrop Junction"-(Orient Heights) to Point Shirley on the outside of Cottage Hill. This photo taken about 1880 on the outside of Cottage Hill. |
