Tewksbury House at 15 Siren St., Point Shirley. This house was torn down in 1904. Photo was taken in 1900. It was said that this house was built about 1750 by the Goldwaites family who founded a dried fish plant at point Shirley in 1753. The house next door at 7 Siren St. is the Sturgis house, also built about 1750 and is still in existence (1987). The Sturgis family lived there and in 1812 operated the Saltworks. |
