Winthrop "Then and Now" Columns
Winthrop historian G. David Hubbard's weekly “Winthrop Then and Now” has been a regular feature of the Winthrop Transcript for many years. Since mid-2018 the newspaper has been making full print issues available on their website. Photographs in the column are courtesy of Stephen F. Moran. Other contributions by Hubbard, a past president and member of the Winthrop Improvement and Historical Association, to recording the town’s history include two Then and Now books; Historical Mapping of Winthrop and Historical Postcards of Winthrop (both available at the Winthrop Public Library and Museum); and multiple hosting of videos on Winthrop Community Access Television (WCAT) (links available here).
