Alvin W. Gordon (1894-1918) - U.S. Army, WWI - enlisted and served in the 102nd Machine Gun Battalion, 26th "Yankee" Division. He shipped to France in April 1918 and was killed in action at Seicheprey, France April 17, 1918. Alvin Gordon was born in London, England. He immigrated to the United States as an infant with his parents. They took up residence in Winthrop a few doors down from Payson Street. He graduated from Winthrop High School.
