George A. Iorio (1922-2000) - U.S. Army WWII - served in a tank destroyer unit and was engaged in numerous battles in Europe including the Battle of the Bugle. He survived the war and was prominent is veteran and town affairs including the excavation of the the Kellog Bunker at Ft. Banks and the establishment of a Civil Defense Agency for the town.
