Norman F. Daw (1898-1931) - U.S. Navy, WWI - Norman was born in Winthrop and enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17. He was assigned to the U.S. Marines, 2nd Division. He participated in almost every major engagement in France, and was wounded four times. He survived the war but succumbed to his wounds ten year later. He lived on Shirley Street near Lewis Lake.
