"Resolution: Be it hereby resolved: That it is with great pleasure and deep appreciation for a life time of service that The Winthrop Town Council hereby dedicate and name the new Winthrop Town Landing as “The Charles J. Famolare Memorial Landing” so that he may continue to inspire and remind us that success is being able and more importantly willing to help others and look beyond ourselves. Resolution adopted by the Winthrop Town Council on this the 19th day of December 2006."
"Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows:
..."The Town Landing located in the town of Winthrop shall be designated and known as the Charles J. Famolare Landing, in memory of Charles J. Famolare, a former harbormaster in the town of Winthrop. The department of conservation and recreation shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing said designation in compliance with the standards of said department."
   "Charles was born in Boston in 1931. He was a retired Boston Police Officer, Station 6 South Boston, serving for over 41 years, and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was very well known and respected in the community, and was the Town of Winthrop Harbormaster for many years as well as past member Winthrop Elks; past member Cottage Park Yacht Club; past Commodore East Boston Yacht Club; past member 1212 Police Explorers for over 25 years, and the founder of Famolare’s Catering Co. South Boston. Charles passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was 74 years of age."
"On May 28 at 1 p.m. the Winthrop Town Landing will be dedicated in honor of Charles J. Famolare, the former harbormaster of the town."
